Our Mission is:
To expand an ethical and life-affirming Humanist community devoted to science, reason, inclusion and social responsibility.
Building a Community
The Jefferson Humanist Chapter of the American Humanist Association was founded in January, 2014. We are growing fast and hope to include many of you in our community.
At this time, we have monthly meetings with lively presentations in a variety of subjects. In recent months, we have learned about solar and wind power, mathematics, food safety, reproductive rights, vaccinations and the crisis in Syria.
In addition to our monthly meetings we have a library of Humanist-themed books for check out, a monthly book group, a movie group, and other Meetups around the area.
What we really need are your ideas and your energy. Please give us a try. We think you will find something to love about the Jefferson Humanist Chapter, just as all of us have.
About Jefferson Humanists
What is Humanism?
Humanism is a progressive philosophy of life that, without supernatural beliefs, affirms our ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfillment that aspire to the greater good of humanity. Humanists believe in critical thinking and evidence over established doctrine or faith.
Membership in the Jefferson Humanists is open to anyone, focusing on, but not limited to, Jefferson County, Colorado.
We meet the 4th Sunday of every month with a program on a topic of interest to humanists, followed by a social hour and a buffet supper for a small donation.
